Does your dh's employer have Christmas parties? If so, is it a big shindig or something small? Are spouses invited? Is it during the workday or after?

Usually my dh's company just shuts down early and does something for the employees, but this year they had an actual Christmas party at someone's house and spouses were invited. I'll be forever indebted to my neighbor for watching my dd so I could go to this thing for a few hours. It was fun being around adults for a change and I had my first experience using a Wii.

Yes DH has a big shindig (black tie event) for his company. It was this past saturday. My company also does a big shindig (black tie event) and it was also this past saturday. We went to DH's holiday party because he is one of the partners. It was really nice going there and meeting some of the people that he works and deals with on a day to day basis. I wish that both his and my party were on different dates so we can attend both.

Dh's company had a xmas party last friday at a bar and grill. They rented the back room and every year it is for the employees and their spouses.

My company is having one this friday for spouses and employees.

OMG yes dh's did this year. it was at their even center. PEOPLE were so ruid. It was buffet style and people actually took the left overs home. Also they had fun activites for the kids like thoose cookies that you color on with the food color markers (there were about 200) kids and about 100 cookies and Parents were coloring cookies for them selves. Also we went and got out table with spots put out drinks down and then went in line at the buffet and then when we went back to our table someone had moved our drinks 3 to 1 seat and took the rest of the table. I don't think we will go again. It was so dissapointing how people acted.

Dh's company has a big amusement park picnic in the summer so no company holiday party. Now, his boss has a party at his house, but we couldn't go this year because it was the same night as ds's birthday party.

Yep, though it depends what it is on the year. This year it is at our Science Museum, while the museum is still open and then later in the evening. The events includes tickets and parking for the museum, tickets to the special events at the museum which requires a special (expensive) ticket (it's CSI right now) and then food and drinks. It's nice they came up with something a little different.

My dh's employer has a large dinner/party at a restaurant. However, due the poor economy (he's in Education), spouses are no longer included.

Yes, DH's work has an extremely large Holiday party. Suits and ties, black tie, very fancy. It was at the Nixon Library this year and it was Dec. and wonderful!

Employees and their spouses (about 20 people) are taken out to a nice restaurant. The company owner always does a champagne toast, telling the employees how much he appreciates them.

DH works for an oilfield company, they had a huge bar-b-que in November, everyones entire families were invited but the kicker is, November is a very busy time for the oilfields, some guys were offshore and most were in east Texas so I guess the only people who showed up were the 10-12 office employees and their families, they prepared for 200 people but less than 50 were there.
