Last oct bonus son bought a 2004 grand prix, that he had to put into his stepfathers name, because he was only 18.

When he moved in with us, when he turn 19 and child support stopped on him, he refinance the car in July to get it out of his stepfather name and into his own. He also had to buy a new car tag for it since it was in his name. Also his insurance on the car went up an extra $30 a month.

Well Monday, he decided that he no longer wanted a car payment nor did he want to pay full coverage on his car. So he sold the car for less than 300 over pay off.

Well he has no car, no truck no nothing. So he decided that he wanted an truck that he could pay $3,000 on (we gave him 1800 of the money out of a trust fund and the other was want he had in savings).

Well this is really NOT a good time, to be hunting a $3000 truck from the 1990's because of the recent cash for clunkers deal.

Anything that old that he has found, has over 170,000 miles and he doesn't want that or it is not the right color. All day yesterday, I drove him around hunting a truck.

Dh is taking him today. If he doesn't find one by Saturday, one of us is going to have to get up at 4:30 to take him to work and then go back and pick him up. And then do the exact same thing Sunday

He can't drive any of ours, because the classic cars you have to be over 21 for insurance purposes. And it was going to be almost $1000 just to add him as a driver to dh's truck and my car.

Teenagers, when do they start thinking and planning ahead?

gee, I can't wait for teenagers.

Do you have an car auction near you? That is the best bet for a $3,000 truck. The auctions around here have websites to preview the vehicles before going to auction.

So, he sold his car with no thought to how he will get to/from work, and decides he will buy an older/cheaper/less reliable vehicle with the money so he will not have to worry about payments. But he didn't bother to find that car before he sold the other one?

I think this kid needs to go back to school.

Oh, and you know the resume that you help me "fine tune" and he got a full-time job based on that resume, he quit. Got another full time job and quit.

Now he is working the part time job, that he had when we did his resume for him.

It is just working Sat and Sun 8 hours each!

I wait for all the boys to reach 25. Then, if they haven't gone to jail or physically harmed themselves or someone else, I figure they will make it.
