Some hospitals have started a policy of no children allowed inside the hospital and limiting the number of adults that can visit at one time to try and cut down on the spread of H1N1.

Two hospitals here where I live started this policy this week. The hospital I work at limits kids to the waiting room.

They have just announced this policy at the hospital I am delivering at this week. I am really nervous about when I go into labor, trying to make sure there is someone that can keep ds since he will not be able to be there at all.

They have done this with several hospitals in our area too. DD was supposed to have a halloween field trip at one of the hospitals in the area on Friday too - the staff sets up displays and stuff for the kids, but they cancelled because of H1N1.

I've heard this too. Hoping this week's surgery stays outpatient for me otherwise my kids are not going to be happy.

FYI this may apply to nursing homes too. The one I work at is currently not allowing anyone under 18 into the building.

My mom is in the hospital right now and I'm in 100% agreement with this policy. She got an infection in her wound site and it scares me to death to think of kids coming in with h1n1 and giving it to her. OF course, some person ignored the signs and brought his 3 kids with him to visit someone. I was so mad - the nurse finally went into the room and told the kids they had to wait for their dad down the hall, away from patient rooms.
