I think our kids are more often in our bed than they're not. I'm usually happy if they at least start off in their bed. Give my husband and I some alone time.

All of my boys slept in our bed at some point or another, but once they were in their toddler years, it became more of a once-in-a-while kind of thing, not every night. I need my space when I sleep, so it's really not something I ever enjoyed.

I don't quite get it. Mine have slept in their own cribs/beds since the day they came home from the hospital. I'm sure there are pros and cons to both, but it's not for me. DS has slept with hubby and I once when he woke up from a nightmare, but that's about it for us.

None of mine would ever sleep in a crib. It was so much easier on me nursing and after a c-section to co-sleep. We had a crib and I did try every now and then, mostly for naps, to get them to sleep in it, but they always slept better in my bed. Now they start out in their beds but I never know who will wake up with me in my bed, normally the younger two.

Its not for us either. All 3 of mine slept in the crib since the day they came home from the hospital pretty much. Oldest DS slept in the pack n play for the first 3 months which was in our room because we didn't have a crib and we had DH's grandfather staying with us so we didn't have the space, but they were hardly in our bed. When they were sick I would go in their room and sleep on the bed in the baby's room but the baby would still be in the crib.

M'ija slept with me more often than not when I was nursing her. It was easier for both of us that way.
As she got into toddlerhood, sometimes she slept with me, sometimes in her bed.
As she got older, every now and then, she still wanted to sleep in my bed, or for me to sleep in hers with her.
I was fine with all of it.

The only time our kids have ever slept in our bed is when they were toddlers and have had a bad dream, didn't like the thunder or up really early in the morning.

It's not for us either! My husband and I both like our own space when we sleep. I'm such a light sleeper that if I sleep next to anyone and they move even the slightest, I'm awake! My daughter has never slept in bed with us. She was in a bassinett until she was about 4 months old. She has been in her crib ever since (now it's turned into a toddler bed).
It got to the point that if we pulled her into "mom and dad's bed," even when she was only a year old, she thought it was playtime. To this day, when she wakes up at night, she just wants me to rock her, sing to her, and cover her up. The only time she wants to climb into bed with us is in the morning. (Usually all of her blankies come with her!)
I really like this arrangment. I understand how some moms love to sleep with their kids, especially the little ones, but we would never get any sleep if we did that.
