I co-sleep, but never thought I would. Oldest DD was sick all the time, so I'd co-sleep with her when she ran high fevers, then it would last a little longer when the fever was gone...then I just started sleeping with her (she had a full bed). DH and I don't sleep so well together, we tend to wake each other up often anyway. DD was a snuggler and we all slept better with this arrangement.
Second DD came along, and she was a co-sleeper from birth. I nursed, and it was just easier that way. We bought bunk beds and older DD started sleeping on the top bunk while I slept below (on a double bed) with youngest.
That is our current arrangement. DH and I get along fine, our sex life is good, and we all get a good night's sleep this way. It just works for us right now. How long it will last...I have no idea.
I know it's not for everybody, and I never thought I'd be doing it, but it works for us.
I say you should do what works for your family
