Default Is moodiness a sign of puberty or something?

DS1 is 8 years old and he has been getting progressively moodier, more sassing-back, and bad attitude lately. This morning he told me that I can't tell him what to do! He acts like a little teenager. Also, he keeps making sexual-type remarks, like a girl on tv is "so hot" or "oh baby." It makes me wanna puke.

I am wondering if he could be starting puberty? On my side we all had early puberty. In one of my books it says kids with CP like DS has sometimes have early puberty.

I don't know what else could account for his snarky behavior lately. Do kids normally get rude this young? I thought I had a few more years! Any thoughts?

If you figure it out, will you let me know?! My ds is 9 and he also acts like a moody teenager! He hasn't started calling girls hot yet, but with the way he has been acting lately, it wouldn't surprise me!

Yes, they start going through changes around 8 or 9. Mine went through it, my 14 yo son is mellowing out finally~the episodes are less frequent.

I alwasy thought kids were cyclic in their behavior. usually for my girls it means a growth spurt as well.
