What do your kids do for valentines for their classmates? Do you do homemade valentines? Candy? other treats?

I let my dd pick out some valentines from the store (they usually only run a buck) and we buy some Dum-Dum lollipops and tape them to the valentines.

My dd is in 2nd grade and I'm assuming that they will still be doing valentines. I haven't heard anything from the teacher yet.

We just do the store-bought valentines.

I always let each kid pick out a box of valentines, then they get to pick out a bag of candies and we either tape or staple the cany and valentine together.

I agree with the above posters - I'd recommend keeping it simple. Having kids pass out valentines to all of their classmates is crazy enough. It's fun chaos, but chaos nonetheless.

My dds each pick out a package from the store and we usually buy a bag of their favorite candy or what they like at the time and they pass them both out. I have seen some really cute home made ideas but I have never taken the time to do any of them.

This is what we have normally done too.

Last year I bought regualr sized chocolate bars, covered them with pink paper that was typed with "Happy Valentines Day Love ds" and had the kids decorate with stickers. They helped with the whole process.

One year one ds received magnets. The classmate drew lost of great pictures and the mom glued them on to magnet backing you can get at a supply store. Cute idea

Another idea, one kid gave out Jiffy popci=orn (that you do on the stovetop). They put construction paper over the circle part with a cute poem.

Sometimes my kids want to do homemade and sometimes we just buy them...it's just up to them as to what they want to do. We put the card into a goodie bag and tie it up with lots of ribbon, they always turn out so cute.

Sometimes I bake for little treat bags, decorated sugar cookies or something like that. One year one of my sons wanted the decorated cookies from "Cookies by Design" so I used those and they were SO CUTE! They do such a great job.

My older son (6th grade) is really not interested in Valentine's Day but he'll participate if everyone else does. They just hand out cards and then I'll send in cookies or brownies for their little 'party' in the classroom and anything else the room mothers might need.

My younger son (3rd grade) wants to make his cards this year, we just bought oodles of stuff at Joann Etc We also might do the melted crayon idea from Family Fun Magazine to include with the little treat bag we're giving out. He choose three candy items for each bag and then sometimes he'll really like a certain pencil or this year he wants to do these little trolls for each bag...so we might do those. We have lots of ideas! We just haven't figured it all out yet!
