(I am rephrasing a post from last week)

Do dead beat Dad's(or Mom's) deserve to face jail time?? And if you have an ex that is a dead beat Dad (or Mom) ...what are your feelings on this issue??

I'm on the fence about this. My ex-dh is about 6 months behind on child support, we don't need his money but my kids do deserve it (when he does pay we put it in their savings accounts). Yesterday I actually printed the paperwork to have the child support garnished from his paychecks, I didn't fill it out yet, I'm going to talk to my ex about it first.

He already isn't paying, if he is in jail he won't pay and just get further behind and then I worry about how he will support his current wife and their 2 children. I know I shouldn't think about them but all the kids are innocent in this.

My dh pays child support and as far as I am concerned it is our number one obligation to pay before the other bills. My own father never paid my mom his support for me and that made me feel like I was worthless. My mom never told me I found out about it from my step dad [jerk]. This money is for the children and if it helps mom fine. I don't think they should go to jail unless they strait out refuse to pay. I think they should get a second job and it should go strait for back pay.

My ex doesnt even work, nor does he pay a cent of support. During the paperwork of calculating child support - we couldnt, he doesnt work and lives with his mom and she pays for it all. I think he goes to those work today paid today kinda places so he cant be tracked. What a looser and it pisses me off that he doesnt financially support his son.

I just wonder what he's going to do when his mommy isnt around...
