Do you choose to fight this battle or not?

I have always let my kids do what they want with their hair, as it is not a battle I wish to put my energy into. For example my 9 yr old refuses to cut his hair, and it is getting quite long. It is his individuality statement (of course my dh's hair is all the way down his back!) My 13 yr old dd dies her beautiful auburn hair occasionally. It kills me to let her do this, but it is her hair. How about you guys, do you consider hair a battle worth fighting?

The bigest battle so far that I have is getting Ashlynn to brush her hair before school. Sometimes I just let her be. Because I really do not like to brush her hair she has the thickest hair ever! She takes after me. And it is long which makes it worse. But whatever she wants to do with her I will let her decide. Same with the other two. How else are they going to learn how to be independent?!?!

This hasn't been an issue for us, also where my boys go to school, part of the uniform code is for boys to have neatly trimmed short hair...

My oldest likes to do different thigs with his hair. He gets different haircuts all the time. The only time I had to put my foot down was when he wanted a mohawk! LOL I probably should have let him, but he was only 6 at the time, and I was afraid he would regret it later.

Your post reminded me...in the summertime, with swim team, a lot of the boys on the team get crazy haircuts for the summer but my boys never seem to want to do that. I'd let them though, even a mohawk, if they wanted to do it for the summer.

No this is not something a battle with them on. But we haven't had anything crazy come up yet either, so, I don't know how I would handle it then. I am hoping that I still let them do whatever they want.
