UGH!!! My DS, bless his heart, has been so rotten lately!!! I don't know what it is, but he's been on a major tear and its dragging me down big time. Today while we were in Target he threw the biggest fit ever! Over NOTHING!! I don't get it either because he had a nap! He was just being nasty to me and saying NO and hitting me!! It was all I could do to restrain myself from swatting his bum right there in the store! I just don't get this behavior. I know he misses his daddy, but my goodness! He should be used to him being gone by now and I have not been letting him get away with this kind of thing since DH's been gone. I've tried to be very patient with him, but not let him walk all over me either. *sigh* This is getting a bit ridiculous!

Anyone else have experience with this during a deployment???

At least you realize why the acting up is going on. It's OK to cut them some slack, but you still have lines they can't cross over! Mommy can only put up w/so much and is doing some missing, too! Don't you wish you could get away with having a tantrum?

You know my son acts the same way whenever my husband is gone. I think he is testing my authority and is confused about daddy being gone and I really don't know what to do about it. Dh will be gone for another year by the end of 2007 and I hope ds is old enough by then (he is 6) to stop acting that way.
