He actually sent me a child support check, he is about 8 months behind and he sent a check for 3 months. Not sure what is going on with him but that check better be good. Now if I could just get him to call his kids or answer the phone when they call him.

Oh gosh, I hope it's good too. Although it sounds like he's not the most reliable, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Does he send the checks directly to you? I always thought it had to go through the state.

Happymom, it goes through the state if it is set up that way. My ex pays me directly. But if he should ever stop...I would then have to go through the state to get it. Hope that makes sense.

My experience is limited. My grandsons dad wanted to pay directly (when he used to pay), but was told it had to go through the state. Maybe every case or state is different.

Lucky you I wish enforcement worked in my area. My poor neighbor has not received it in over 2 years for her daughter. He only had to pay around $150 or $200 a month or just enough to cover after school child care...that is all she wanted. When her daughter's dad was in jail for traffic warrants she went to the judge and asked that he have to pay or begin paying before release. They fined him a couple hundred for the traffic ticket and released him. Then they told her he was only behind X amount of dollars so it was not worth their time to enforce it....but they enforced a couple hundred dollar traffic ticket.
