Your fear is no less valid than the others on here because it is your brother serving and I hope others join me in welcoming you to share your story and your fears to gain the support these veterans of the military family can give you.
Gentle hugs to you as you prepare to send your beloved brother to Iraq.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I will be keeping your son in my prayers and send him a big Thank You from my whole family.

You absolutely may join. We have changed the name of the forum to include family members, past, present, future and ex!!! We welcome all input from all perspectives.
Tell us where all you've been stationed! Which did you like best? What did your ex do? What branch of service?

Well, let's see. For those of you that don't know, I'm Andrea. Dh is Active Duty Army, and we are currently stationed at Ft McPherson in Atlanta Ga. We have 2 boys, Jayden (3 in 11 days) and Stetson (4 months) and also 2 daughters Morgan (5) and Katie (2) from a previous marriage.
I also have a brother Active Duty Army who leave for Iraq in 3 weeks and a brother in the Marines, who will be going in June I believe. I have a younger brother going to the Navy, but for now he's home safe.
(I have 7 brothers by th way, sorry if this is confusing)

My brother is serving in the Army. He has been in South Korea since last June. I am so proud of him but miss him very much. We are very close and being so far away is very hard. He is coming home, though, June 9th. Hooray!!! I can't wait to see him.
He is married and has a five year old son. They live just a couple miles away. She works full time and I get to watch my nephew for them. I am glad that I am able to help them out while Brandan is away.
To all of the men and women in the military, thank you for all that you do for the rest of us.

Hello all....
My DH joined right out of high school. He is in the Air Force and it is going on 13 years in June. We were high school sweethearts and married right after I got out of high school. He is currently a Tech Sgt. with a Special Duty assignment at the Pentagon working for PFPA(Pentagon Force Protection Agency). He is Security Force K-9, but took this job at the Pentagon for something different. We have been stationed at Tinker AFB, OK, MacDill AFB, FL, Yokota AB, Japan, Anderson AFB, Guam and currently Bolling AFB, DCLOL

Hello! My name is Christine and my husband is in the Navy. He joined 7 yrs ago when he was 33. We've been married for 5 yrs and have 2 adorable children.
My dad retired from the Navy after 20 yrs of service. I remember living on base at Pearl Harbor and loved playing outside. My brother just retired also from the Navy after 20 yrs--he joined when he was 19. He would brag that he could tell what kind of plane was flying overhead just by hearing it--impressive, huh, but how would I know any different?! And my SIL (his wife) has been in for 16 yrs. She will be retiring this year. Now if I could only get my teenage daughter to join.....
By the way, it was my SIL who introduced me to my husband. He was truly a Godsend--I've been divorced for a while when she got stationed in San Diego on his ship. They worked in an office together and she gave him my number against my brother's advice. But it all worked out--he liked me enough to marry him.
Also, just wanted to say that this is a great forum--thanks for thinking outside the box!
