If you live on base, do you like to get off base, or do you find you spend a lot of time on base?

If you live off base, do you find you still frequent the base to grocery shop or use the BX/NEX?

I make a weekly trip to the commissary. It's worth the drive. I save boat loads of money simply by being there and then top the savings with my coupons!

Our housing is off base, so I do not spend much time there, I go to the commissary a few times a month, and all our dr appointments.

We live off base, and I may spend 2 hour a month/ every other month there. Our base stinks.

We live off base. I usually only go there for doctor appointments. If we are going to be over there at some point during the week, I'll do my grocery shopping there, but I won't make a special trip for it.

There is a med clinic on base but they are completely full and not accepting new clients so we use a civilian doc.

When there are base activities (take for example: April is Military Child Month) we go and take part in them. Bowling is like half price or free on some days. Craft days are offered for free at the Teen building, etc.

We live an hour and 20 minutes off base so I only go on base for FRG meetings while my husband is deployed. When my husband is home I barely ever go on base. Our base is really yucky and there is not very many things that make it worth the drive now that gas prices are so high!
