We now must pay for. Just when I was trying to save and budget I get this. They arranged our allotments but we will only get $153 a month towards utilities. We have a 4 bedroom ranch home with 1900 sq ft! I can only imagine what they are going to run us!!

So utilities are no longer included with your housing??!!! That totally sucks!
The pay is not as good as it should be, at least the benefits made up for it.... what next will they start charging rent?

This makes me so angry

Check with Base/Post /Camp and Local utility companies for MILITARY RATES.
Every little bit helps even if it only once.

They said that we only pay the flat rate not all the extra fees so we will see!

They are starting to make that change over in Enid, OK (at Vance AFB) too.

All I can say is be very conscientious about how often you leave lights on, water running, length of showers, frequency of showers, AC and heating usage. It all adds up.

I heard they were going to be privatizing here at Travis, also. We were considering moving on base (if we ever make it to the top of the waiting list...) but now I'm not entirely sure.

That's why we won't live on base anymore (at least one of many reasons ). Our old base house was so crappy, I had to use ductape around all of our windows to keep the draft out. I can't even imagine how high the utility bill would have been for that house...
