We went to was the Marine Corps Birthday ball in 2002. It was my first formal. I love getting dressed up and seeing all the guys in their dress uniforms.

The last one I went to was my husband's winging graduation dinner. It was QUITE the event. I don't know if it is because it was an Air Force thing versus what I am normally used to (Navy) but it was VERY stuffy.

Do you like going to these things?

My dh's Battalion had their this past February. It was a very special time b/c they had just been back for about 1-2 months. Very bittersweet b/c there was an ongoing slideshow of the ones that didn't make it back (his Battalion lost 42 soldiers ) & just tons & tons of pics from Iraq.

I had a blast getting my nails done & even got a haircut that day. There were tons of ladies doing the same thing that day & we were all really giddy b/c it was the "first date" for many of us since Iraq.

I LOVE, just LOVE seeing them in their dress uniforms. No man looks bad in their dress blues

My dh even wanted pics taken of us. It was fun. I treasured it.

I never have but Maria did at her 1st duty station- we sent down all her prom dresses to Fort Benning so she could share with other soldiers.
She sounded like it was another Prom but with more enchantment. Everyone had a really good time.

Maria is hoping there will be another Ball when they get back- she wants her Dad to come and dance with her.
