Gave back the ring it was a family heirloom.
Actually mailed it back to former MIL who signed for it and then told him she never got it back.

Trust me the gleam in my eye when I got my freedom shone much brighter than that ring ever did

I have mine, both of them, engagement ring and the wedding ring....I am saving them for my daughter....but we will most likely melt them and change them into something else for her...along with my DH's rings that he has....I will have to talk to a jeweler to see what my options are....

I gave my engagement ring back. We broke it off. Sheesh I was just 19 or so!

Bastard probably gave it to some other chick, whatever - better her than me!!!

I kept it because I ended up paying for it. He was int he military at the time - got into trouble and had to pay a fine. They directly deducted a large amt from his meager Airman's salary and left him very little to live on.

My daughter wants it, I really do not want to see it on her or give it to her. I'd rather take it to the jeweler and trade it in for a mothers ring or a Tanzanite ring

I gave back the wedding ring... I wanted nothing to do with it, and even if he decided to use it again (I would so NOT put it past him) it looks ridiculous without the engagement ring (it was a set)

The engagement ring...I gave back to it's rightful owner...my mom. She lent him the money for it and he only paid her back part of it, so I consider it hers and hope she turns it into a pretty pendant (It's been 10 years and she still has it in her jewelry box....I don't think she wants to look at it either.)
