I know I am not military, but dh works for the military (AF) - 20 years in September! Well, his Wing is having a Spousal Appreciation Day for military AND civilian members in a couple of weeks! We NEVER get included so it is kind of nice to be noticed for a change. We may not get deployed, but dh still works really hard to support his country. Goodness knows he has had enough TDYs in the last couple of years, but fortunately only in the USA! The current commander's wife is really, really nice and sort of pushed the whole thing in general. They have not done this for military spouses since we have been here - that I know of.

We are having "taxi rides" on the tarmac, tours of the base including the climate controlled area (I have always wanted to go in there!) and many other fun things including lunch. Plus, I get away from the kids for a day! I will miss dd's last Kindermusik class for the semester, but dh can take her to one! lol

Wow! How fun!
