The doctor said it sounds more like a prolapsed rectum. It's when the rectum kind of turns in side out and protrudes out the anus.... She said it's pretty uncommon in children and can be a sign of other problems....like cystic fibrosis and MS. She said he doesn't have any other symptoms of SF or MS so we are just going to keep Riley from sitting on the toilet for any length of time....i have a timer and he has to do his business in 5 minutes instead of the half hour he use to like to take. It probably is just he's putting to much pressure on his tush when he strains. If it continues to happen even with this he'll have to be seen again.

Like you said limit his time on the pot. Feed him foods to make his stools softer and easier to pass.

Oh gosh....that sounds sort of worrisome. I'd keep a close eye on that. Hope he doesn't need any surgery.

And make sure he drinks enough water - limit the juice and sweets.

His isn't out all the time though like an elderly persons might be. It's only happened twice and it was right after a half hour sit on the toilet.

Yeah-what does that mean?:hurl: Sometimes my dd would take a while & she eats a lot of raw vegetables too. Try to get him to eat more raw veggies like broccoli & cauliflower-stinky . See if he will eat apples & pears with the skin on them & lay off the bananas, and push more water & maybe he wont take as long & then wont have a problem anymore. I have never heard of that before.
