There is a new charter school that is very close to my house. It looks very interesting. It's publicly funded, so it would be free. My daughter who's in first grade in her current school's gifted and talented program and this school sounds like their program is a lot like her gift and talented program, which is her favorite part of school.

Does anyone have any experience with this kind of school?

Two of my boys are going to an academic emphasis charter school next year. I am really excited about it and hope it lives up to my expectations!

Yes!!! We have our dd in a public charter here and she LOVES it! I really like that they allow the kids to learn in a way that best suits them. She just graduated from kindergarten there and will be in the mixed 1st/2nd grade class next year. The extra curricular programs they offer are excellent and I am just so please that she is there!!!
