We went today for the craft program (make a father's day card). The kids can also earn prizes for reading 20 minutes a day (not hard for my kids!!! they do it every night when they are supposed to be sleeping!) Last night, the library sponsored a concert in the park, but I was working and dh was installing our air conditioner! I just love library things!!!! We got a calendar with 2 months packed full of fun things they are doing!!! Does anyone else have things like this?

Yes, but I am sure I have mentioned it before so I sound like a broken record. We have a great library system, but it is currently closed (they are adding on and gutting the old part) anyway the new isnt quite done so they wont be reopened until mid July Sooo no great library summer programs this year.

Yes, our library does a summer and fall reading program. It just started on Tuesday. The boys had lots of fun. They read books, have a puppet show, do a little 10-15 minute movie and do crafts. Plus the do the program that if they read so many books they get prizes. We are right on track for our reading so far. Our library is sponsering a puppet show and magic show next month-I know the kids will enjoy that.

we have a summer full at teh library. they give out weekly prizes for going to the lib. they give out prizes for reading 5, 10, 15,20 hrs. plus at the end of the summer those signed uop for reading program get a big picnic bash. also they have all sorts of ther things going on. we are currently making gifts to sell at the kids craft fair. kids make and sell their own cratfs. BTW- Miss M (dd#3) won the first weekly prize. last year all of my kids won.
We love our librarian, Carol.

I love our library! We went to family night last night, and they had a magician there. The kids loved it! They also signed up for the summer reading program.

I agree libraries are a goldmine for the frugal family. When I signed my girls up for the summer reading program we automatically got free admission tickets to a Children's Museum. After the read a certain amount they get free prizes, coupons, admissions to baseball games. At the very end they have a big picnic in a park with free food, face painting, clowns, and give away free bikes. Each week they have crafts, story time and craft at the zoo, free movies, and different special events (humane society, magician, bug exhibit)
