Hi,

Can anyone tell me how you handled seperating pictures? I am having the hardest time with pictures, I would like to just shred them into little pieces. That sounds theraputic! However our son might want them when he is older.

HELP.

As the child of divorced parents, please don't shred or destroy them. Put them away and let him have them when he's older, as a teen or after marriage. Trust me. My mom burned ours one time when she got angry at my dad after the divorce and I have pretty much nothing. I have little to remember what either of them looked like when I was little, and have even less of my siblings. It's a GREAT loss. If anything is to be destroyed, let that be his choice when he is mature enough, in his twenties, to make that choice.

I have everything stored in a box....and they have some pictures of us seperate in their rooms. Even my wedding pictures are in the box.....just sealed it up and try not to think about it....

My dh (who was also married once before but did not have children from that marriage) even has a lot of his old pictures, including wedding pics.

You can't erase what happened....and some things are hard to let go of.....but down the road you might just be glad you put it all in a box.

HTH

Good luck!!

Yes, store those pics for your son. I as a step mother have kept my dh's and his ex's pics that I do have for my dss and dsd for when they are older. I do not have many but I do have some and I have kept them for them. Please even though you may not want to right now keep them for your child.

i tried to be the nice guy and get an album of pics together for DH of just him and the kids. I found the book in the trash an hour after I gave it to him so it's in my daughters cedar chest at the foot of the bed. SHe moved out but left alot behind because her pat is tiny - she will reclaim it eventually.
