I know alot of our Florida member already started school. But ours does not start until Sept 5th.

Are you excited or sad for school to start? Personally, I can't wait!!! My kids have watched way too much tv and played too many video games. I know it is my fault, but trying to get everything done and working with them here is hard!! They are excited too. We got the class lists and registration materials in the mail and they are ready to go!

Ours starts Monday, August 28th.

We start August 25....yup, on a Friday...I guess just to give the kids that day to meet their Teachers and classmates, and get acclimated. Odd day of the week to start though....

sept 6 or 7th not sure with out looking at the calender ( its a half day ) which i dont understand when they are older. but oh well i have many more full days LOL

We've been back since July 10th!! We are in year round school, and will be tracking out September 11 for 3 weeks. Then track back in for 9 more weeks/ track out for 3, etc....

They were ready to go back and I was ready to take them!! But we are looking forward to track out - hurricane permitting, we are going to the beach!!

Here school starts September 5, the day after Labor Day. Here in Virginia we have what's refered to as the " Kings Dominion Law" meaning schools can not start before Labor Day due to the fact that high schoolers are the main labor force. If you live far enough away from Kings Dominion and Bush Gardens you can get a variance to start earlier.

My dd started back on a Friday also -- August 4th. I too thought that was a strange day to start back to school. Dd usually goes back on a Wednesday or a Thursday.

I don't care for summer vacation and look forward to school starting. Don't get me wrong, I love my dd and enjoy spending time with her, but 10-11 weeks is just waaaay too much time for me! If I could get a few hours a week break from my dd during summer vacation (bedtime doesn't count), I'd be refreshed and ready to spend time with her again. But I get absolutely no break whatsoever between the end of May and the first of August. That's tough for someone who's a strong loner like me who needs people-free time to recharge.

My kids go back on August 30. I start Preshcool on Sept. 6. we are all looking forward to getting back to school.
