My 13 yr old dd just signed up for a morning paper route. She had one a little over a year ago, but I ended up doing more than she did. I told her that is not going to happen this time around. I am not getting up to drag her out of bed and I am not driving her around town. If she wants the money, she has to do the work. Let me say, that we live in a very small town and I feel safe with her doing it. Money making options for kids her age are pretty limited, so I am leting her do it, but I am still worried that she will be responsible enough to get it done!

What age do you think is good for paper routes?

In a small town I think that is a great age for a paper route. Good luck and hopefully the money will motiviate her.

Wow - I didn't know there were even paper routes for kids anymore. All of ours come via adult in car at about 5AM, or through the mail.

I remember having friends with paper routes about that age (13-15) - and in a small town I would feel comfortable. Good luck to her...hopefully she will stick with it.
