When we give my 6 year old DS a time out for being naughty which is about 1-2 x a month. (He is a very good kid. Wev'e been blessed) He will draw a picture of himself on paper crying with his name on top. Joey. One time after we went up to talk to him after a few minutes we asked him about the picture, he said "Let's forget about that." This was when he was feeling better. I take it, this is his way of dealing with his emotions, just like some people write in a journal. Does anyone else's kids do this?

Mine don't, but I think that is awesome that he has found a way to get his emotions out. I would really encourage him to keep doing this, it will be a good way for you to keep an eye on how he is really feeling inside.

Yes, my five year old does this pretty frequently when he gets in trouble. It's kind of cute, actually, but it does make me sad to see his little crying picture. Sometimes he draws a picture of a heart with a crack in it too! I think he knows what will get to me.
