I live in Southern Minnesota, which means right now there is rain, rain, rain!!! School does not start until September 4th, so I am stuck with 5 kids (and 2 dogs) in the house all the time!!! I can't even send them to the basement where alot of their toys are since it is kind of damp down there with all the flooding going on. I have trouble coming up with rainy day activites since I am a definite sunshine person who gets really droopy with all the cloudy weather!!! What do you do for rainy days? Especially a week straight?

So far we:

Rented 5 movies and 2 video games
Went to the library
Played with playdough
watched tv
brushed the dogs

My kids are 4, 7, 8, 9 and 14.

I can relate about rainy days!!!! I am ready to send all 4 of mine and the dog outside to wrestle in the mud and wet grass instead of the house!!!

I am thinking about doing some baking this afternoon or getting out the art box or playing Hulabaloo..that tends to get the "wiggles" out.!!

We don't have rain, but I am definitely doing the "when is school starting????" dance over here! I am completely out of summer activity ideas!! UGH!!! We also start Sept. 4th, which, in my opinion, is not soon enough!!! Even DH had a laugh at my situation this morning as he left for the office - even he knows the kids are way, way bored at this point!!! I even had them try on last year's clothes to see what fits/needs replacing - pure torcher!! Boys hate trying on clothes!

Maybe we'll go kill an hour at the park...

Scavanger hunt! Make up a list of really obscure things in the house and let them team up. First team to find everything gets to make the next list. (or whatever prize you may choose) You could always have them hunt for stuff recently misplaced that you can't find.
