Oh my gosh!!! I went to school with my kids for the first hour today. When I got to dd's Kindy class, I almost fell over! There were 40 kidss in there. The other class had 50!!! We have all day, but dd's teacher said the school is going to add another class that will be half day, and they will take kids out from the 2 classes. It will take about 2 weeks for this to happen.Good grief!!

Wow!!! Move to my town. We only have one Kindergarten class and last year there were only 15 in Riley's class. We still have only one first grade but the class grew by six students this year. Still a pretty small class.

Is there only one teacher in each of those classes? I'm from Indiana too and I thought there were rules about how many kids could be in each class. I thought the lower grades like that couldn't have that many?!? I'm surprised they can do that.

I can't believe the school wasn't on top of it b4 school started. Our principal pulled resources so we wouldn't have 30 kids in a class.

thats insane our district only allows a maximum of 15 students per class. my sons class last year(he was in kindergarten) was large so they had to hire another teacher to keep it under the 15 students per class. so this year going into first grade they had to hire another teacher and will have to keep doing this until middle school if they continue to have the growth of students. he has a large class by our district standards. i hope they get on top of things becuase what kind of learning can go on with that many students in one class.

I think the most they can have here is 20. How can children possible learn anything with that many kids in one room? I would be keeping in contact with the principal and the school board to find out when they are adding another class or redrawing the boundaries for the schools.
