Has anyone used Hooked on Phonics with success? Did you child like it? My aunt gave me the complete set. She works for a handicapped girl whose parents spend $$ like crazy on her. They have passed on more than 100 story books for small children to us as well, which is so nice! We have a great little library for our girls now!!

I haven't used it. I have heard that the older version is better than the newer stuff. I always wanted to try Sing, Spell, Read and Write, but never got it.

Thanks for the info! I was glad to hear about the older version being better. It appears that we have been given the older version, I was worried that it would not be as good. I am going to give it a try.

I don't know if this has any relevance, but the cyber charter school my husband & I are considering for our son uses Hooked on Phonics AND Hooked on Math in their curriculum. They are a national cyber charter school, so I imagine they did the research on it to make sure it is effective.
