I do. With six kids, I have to!! Each day, they come in to a chore list. Sometimes it is simply pick up the den, and sometimes it is things like fold a load of clothes and put away or clean the bathroom. What do you all do?

Shaking in my boots (well, if I was wearing them in the middle of summer!), but glad to be back!

Definately, my 15 yr old and my 10 yr old have daily chores and weekend chores. Daily chores need to be completed before computer or phone. Weekend chores need to be done before they get to stay at a friends or go to the mall. I figure everyone who lives in the house needs to help keep it clean.

Mine do their rooms, feed dog, pick up yard front and back, clean dog bowls and stands, and make their beds every morning. They alternate on feeding the dog, cleaning the dog bowls and one does front yard and one does backyard then swap the next week.

Their allowance is divided up daily and if they don't do there chores for that specific day no allowance for that day. We do no chores on the weekend.

Wellllll.....yes and no. In the summer I usually give them several chores per day. On wknds if they're not too busy, I give them a few chores per day. During the wk if they're not busy, I'll give them a chore or two. BUT...if they're busy with extracurriculars or tons of homework, I don't give them any to do. Right now they're both doing a fall sport with practice after school until 5:30PM. By the time they get home, shower, eat, practice their musical instruments and do homework, I feel they've done enough. Luckily fall sports will be over in another month or so, so then I'll get a little more help.

Not exactally, my tween has her paper route and she is SUPPOSED to keep her room picked up. We tell her things that she needs to do as they need doing. She also watches her little brothers and nephew for short periods of time for me. But if I want her to clean the house, I would be living in a very dirty house!!!

DD is trying to cover her chores[ laundry,bathroom, her room] and help with his [Front yard backyard clean up- trash-etc] but has a new school and 2 fall sports- DH and I are easing up and will divide DS duties between us.
Both kids keep livingroom picked up and vacuumed so I consider myself lucky

I have certain expectations for living in the household...but I don't expect him to do a set list of things each day/week. I expect him to keep his room tidy and to put his laundry in the hamper. I expect him to clean up his messes in the playroom, family room or out in the yard. If I ask him to do something (pull weeds, tidy the bathrooms, empty the dishwasher etc) I expect him to do it promptly without complaining. This is how I grew up and how we're doing it in our house - works for us.
