Our school does not do this- I know of a school (much larger town) that does it and I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand I think it's a great idea- and that more schools should do it. ON THE OTHER HAND, if they have already been drinking, then what's next? Do they tell these kids to leave? If they leave, aren't they just going to go get into more trouble? If the school calls the cops/parents/whom ever then these kids are just being taught to party all night long INSTEAD of attending school events. And it doesn't make much sense to do it at EVERY event, maybe it should be "random" testing? If the students KNOW that they're going to be tested, why would they BOTHER SHOWING UP AT ALL? OF COURSE all of the kids are going to pass (IF they know there is going to be testing there) why would the ones who have been drinking even BOTHER TO SHOW UP...all though the "idea" of it is good, the WAY it is done in some schools needs to change!!!!
