Can you take it back to where you got it?? (or are we talking Target or somewhere?). I would think they would last loooooooong past that. Crud ~ DD is in 5th grade and she is carrying the same backpack this year that she carried in Kinder & 1st grade!!

Oh that's too bad...my older son is still using his LLBean (or was it LandsEnd?) backpack from Kindergarten and he's in 7th grade! It's still going strong, washes up like a dream etc

Take it back! i just returned my dd's brand new sneakers that blew out the stitching not even a month into school. She hadn't even worn them everyday! Took them back to Jc Penney and got my money back! No problem.
So I say return it and get a new one.

Check Target, I just picked up a backpack for next year for $3.85 if you still need one. Heck for that price, I'd pick one up for 'just in case' backup even if you already got a new one.

We got a Transformers one from Target that ds wanted. Within 1 month the lining is already torn. I know Target would take it back, but they don't have another of the same to replace it with. However, they did have $50 Jantzen ones marked down to $9 (I should have gotten one for myself!) and ds chose a cheapie one (he liked the design) that was actually marked down to $2.48.
