My DS is in kindergarten and hates his teacher. He has never disliked someone this much before. He has special needs and his teacher thinks he hates her because she makes him work. Wouldn't his teacher from last year love that. He has walked up to her and told her when she says hi "I don't like you". He told the principal "I hate Mrs. -, Do you hate her?" So I have been trying for weeks to figure out why he hates her so much. And I finally figured it out- she reminds him of my MIL, his selective grandma. I never saw it tell I watched her talk and really looked at her. The teacher has similar haircuts, glasses, and walk. They use the same expressions and have the same fake smile when she looks at him. My MIL likes to use her grandchildren to benefit her socially and in general not that nice to my children and I. Which is why we live 24 hours away. So now I know I should help figure out a way to help him but I can't help but find it funny. Children are so truthful and honest on their feelings.

I would see about getting him into a different class since this is not something that probably will change!!

He is only in there for 2 hrs before he goes to a special ed room. I really don't want to move him as the only other class has the mean kids and moms. I really just consider this social time since he is very behind on academics.

What do you say to your ds when he tells you he hates his teacher?

If my dd were telling me the same thing, I would explain to her that she has a right to her own opinion; however, there are many times in life where we have to work and deal with people that we don't particularly like. We just have to remain polite to those people and keep our opinions to ourselves. Of course, if the teacher was acting abusively towards your ds, everything I just said would be null and void and you would have to step in and take action.
