We have two that have reached or passed that age. What we did was allow them to help BE Santa. They get to help maintain the excitement and magic...get to help pick out Santa gifts (he only brings one gift to each child here), help take the little ones shopping for our family gift exchange (we draw names among the kids), etc. It has been JUST as magical having them help BE Santa as it was to suprise them with Santa. Just curious to see what others did for this....

I don't even really recall when my older ones quit believing. It was sort of just an evolution. I think I will be really sad when my youngest stops believing and we don't have Santa at all!! I think I will just keep being Santa forever!! there is so much more magic that way.

I have a friend who does her inlaws house every year for Christmas morning 'cause Santa still comes there to ANYONE who is there on Christmas morning! LOL I am thinking I might use this bait when my own kids get married and I have "outlaws" to compete with!!!

Santa stopped coming when my twins were 10. I wanted them to believe for as long as they wanted to. They didn't want him to stop coming, LOL. I told them that Santa has been coming for them for 10 years and now it's time for him to go to the houses of the smaller kids, so it was a pretty good run. They agreed. I didn't have the heart to tell them the truth, even though they probably knew. And I never mailed off wish lists, I always placed the order over the phone so they could hear my end of the conversation. They used to love that! Now they just give their wish lists to us, not nearly as much fun.

THAT is precious. My three older ones won't probably go for that, but I wonder if my little ones will!?!

Give it a try, they might surprise you, LOL! I was surprised mine fell for it, but they have younger cousins and godsisters, so they thought it was a cool idea to let Santa come for them now.

Well we still "pretend" there is santa. So I will say to my kids (14 & 16) well santa only comes if people believe in him. So they'll roll their eyes and laugh. Or if people ask where they got such & such, I'll say "Oh santa brought that". Again, my kids will just roll their eyes and laugh. We all know they don't believe, they know we know they don't believe, but we all enjoy "pretending" there's still a santa coming to our house.
