Just a vent here..

When my ex came to pick the kids up yesterday, he brought his two dogs, a chow mix and a pit bull mix. I have a little pomeranian and she was tied outside and the kids where playing around with her.

When the ex pulled up, the chow tried to jump out the car window and then when he got out, he didn't close the door and the stupid dog jumped out and attacked my little 8-1/2 lb baby! All I heard was her yelping and squealing non-stop! When ds and the ex got his dog off mine, ds carried her in the house. The poor thing was so scared and shaking and holding one leg up.

Once I got her calmed down, I was able to see she has two teeth puncture wounds on her. One deep one right at her arm pit and then one on her shoulder blade. I was so scared that she had internal injuries.

She seemed alot better this morning. When I got up, she was wagging her tail and jumping up at my legs like normal.

She's still pretty sore though. I tried leaning her over to check out the marks, and she squealed real loud.

I told the ex to not bring his dogs down to my house any more. Someone who works for a vet told me that chow dogs are even more agressive than pit bulls. Pit bulls just get a bad rap since they are used alot in dog fighting.

My poor baby!

I would be so ticked!!! Are your kids safe with those dogs???? I would have taken her to the vet and had the bill sent to your ex !!!

Awww poor thing.

Hopefully your ex agrees with not bringing his dogs around.

I agree..take her to the vet and have dh reimburse you. That's terrible.

I would not feel safe having those dogs around my kids if that happened. Definately make exdh pay for the vet bills.

He should have offered to pay for the vet on the spot. I hope your kids are ok with those dogs.

Well, he won't pay, even if I just asked him to pay a small chunk of it, he would not do it.. or he would say he would and then never pay up..kind of like the dentist bill he still owes from 2 years ago.

A girl who worked in a vet's office told me to wait a couple days and if she gets worse or it looks like it is getting infected, to bring her in..otherwise, I don't need to take her to a vet.. all the dogs are up on all the shots and everything.

I have some really good salve that I have for animals that I use for cuts and stuff so that should keep any infection away..
