My kids are fascinated by other kids that start their own businesses. So, we are doing a section on "Starting a Business" in school. I'm curious do any of your kids have their own businesses?

My dd likes the concept of having her own business, but besides not knowing what items she would sell or what services she would offer, I don't think she has the tenacity to keep it going.

My son sort of has his own business. He asks all the neighbors and relatives he can find to collect aluminium cans for him. He then takes them in to the recycling center (my husband helps him) and splits the money with his two-year-old sister (he's 5). They've done pretty well. Each time they turn them in they get $50-$60 each and they've turned them in twice so far.

In addition to him bugging everyone we know for cans, my husband takes both my kids on bikerides in our subdivision where they're still bulding and they collect cans from building sites and the side of the road and throw them in the carrier with my daughter. She's come back up to her chest in cans (and pop). But they love it! It's kind of created a monster as anytime my eagle-eye daughter spots a can she makes me put it in my trunk for recycling.
