I just came from a Parent's Advisory Council meeting for the small charter school that 2 of my kids go to. DH and I LOVE it!!! The school is in the process of getting their new computerized curriculum up and running. We are working on procurring donated computers so that every family at our school has one. We discuss discipline strategies, field trip possibilites, and so much more! I can't wait until next school year when I will have 4 kids at that school.

Over the almost 22 years I have been a mom, my kids have gone to lots of different schools, and I have never been excited about them before. It is so nice to feel confident that your children are receiving the best education they can get

I know I've said many times that I LOVE our school system. We did a lot of research when our kids got near school age and moved into the school system we thought was best. It's a very involved community with lots of parental support and for the most part, caring teachers. We have had a teacher or two we didn't care for, but more we've loved. They offer many services for those struggling with school, and many opportunities for those that excell. Both of my kids love their school also.

Yes I love our school system. We are very fortunate to be zoned for "A" schools. We were talking about private school for our youngest (who hasn't started school yet), but we are SO happy with the public schools that it makes that decision easy!!

we are in a great district they go above and beyond for the students and we have a high community involvment. its not a huge district wich is also great and they don't allow more than 15 in a class... parent involvment is also high starting next week we are starting parents go to school days each parent has been asked to attend school with their child for the entire day so you can see what is going on and what you child is doing wich i think is great since there are parents that don't tend to get involved like others. this is there way of getting you to be more involved.

my girls go to a school I really like!! the teachers are caring but do expect rules to keep them safe and teach responsibilty but also realise they do make mistakes etc!!

The school is also the same school I went to so to me its kind of fun as some of the sub teachers have been teachers that my brother or I have had and to me it says something
to me when the teachrs come back to help out after they have retired!!

We also just got a new principal and as much as the olther principal was wonderful (he retired)
the new one is Wow he gets down with the kids and seems to be at there level to undertansd them!! a couple of weeks ago some of the kids (my dd was one of them)
were not allowed to go outside for recess since they have asthma since the air quality was not good anyhow he was in the room supervising them himslef and playing games with them!! to me it just shows he wants to know the kids!!
they all seem soo imp to them!!

I am VERY happy with the kids

I like the school my dd attends. It's the highest-rated and most popular elementary school in the county. We've had a few teachers that I wasn't thrilled with, but overall the teachers and staff are very caring and concerned about the welfare of the students. It's a new, bright, airy building (many of the schools around here are old). Overall, I'm very pleased.

I like my dd's school district. My only complaint is the principal who is retiring soon I've heard through the rumor mill. I also like her school in the fact that they encourage parents to come in and volunteer in the classrooms. I have a coworker who says no one is allowed to volunteer in the classrooms in her district.

I am unhappy that more of our tax dollars don't go to hiring more teachers. My kids say they have up to 27 students in one class. My son says many kids have adhd like him. He struggles and in his case I will homeschool him next year so, he can get the attention he needs. The teachers try hard but, are pushed and frusterated.I don't see how these precious women and men do it.The children do suffer. How can they get the help they need. Without just going through with bad grades and reports.

I am excited that this year my daughter started kinder and comes to school with me. I teach pre-k and have an assistant. So now i get to pop into her parties and special events. i am really thankful to be in a good school too!

I just came from a charter school. I really love the charter school concept, but we have had a few that have not done so well here.
