Jaw Drop i washed my ds cell phone

he left it in his pants pocket and i didn't notice until i heard the clanking in the dryer. now it won't turn on. has this happened to anyone before? if so, were you lucky enough that the phone still worked?

Oh no! That's not happened to me (yet? LOL) but I've read that you can try to dry it out by using a hair dryer on low (take the battery out first!). Take out the sim card. Prop it open so that air can get to the most surfaces. Let everything dry out really well for a day or so before trying to put it all back together and turning it on.

Um...no. You're doing their laundry...they should check their own pockets! My daughter had a similar thing happen to her...and she worked to buy a new one.

I dropped my phone in a Huge puddle of water once and It didnt work for 2 days, I wa ready to go get a new one and tried it 1 more time and it worked!! so give it a couple of days!! its worth a try!! it just migt need to dry out good!!!

I read somewhere that you could take the cell phone and put it in with a bag with like a cup of rice that it would help to pull the moisture out.

I washed my DS's phone more than once, after a couple of days it did start working. The second time I washed it, we had the insurance on it and had to pay $50 for the new phone (we made DS pay it). He is now very careful with his phone.

I always tell ds to check pockets before giving it to me. I think it will work again. Do you have insurance on the cell phone? I am famous for getting water in my cell. Some worked again some didn't.
