OK. I'm a little "sewingly challenged". I can handle needle and thread OK, but I have always have problems with visual acuity. Let's just say that it's a good thing I type here and don't subject you to my handwriting. DS is joining Cub Scouts and we bought his shirt today. There are like seven patches to sew on! Worse, three of them are numbers that I have to make sure are straight. Plus, there are all kinds of rules, like in the military, about where they go, neatness, etc. How have others handled it? I can't be the only one who doesn't trust herself!

They do sell stuff from the cub scouts org. that lets you iron the patches on. If you store doesn't have them you can order it online. My ds did cub scouts last year but isn't doing it again this year.

You can also use hot glue. We hot glued our patches on and I was just very careful when washing the shirt (turn it inside out, gentle cycle, cool water and no dryer). They stayed on great and no sewing. Good luck!

Yea, the iron stuff called Badge Magic works really well, they even have a template in the package & are precut for the common Cub Scout patches. Just wash inside out. I use that & when they are on there good with that, I stitch any loose ends without fear of them being off center or look too crazy.
