When you and your dh were discussing how many children you wanted, did you eventually end up with that amount? Did you have more or less?
My dh and I knew we always wanted at least one child. Before we had dd, we toyed around with the idea of having two kids. After dealing with a high-needs baby that had to be held all the time, we decided one was enough for us.

Yes. Dh and I decided we wanted two kids before we got married, and that's what we ended up having. Would I have like to have a third biologically? Maybe, we had talked about it, but when I had an unexpected hysterectomy, that took care of that. We are very happy though that we have two healthy children. We wouldn't change that for anything!

I always wanted 4 kids and before I was 30. My dh always said 2 would be good. I wanted a girl so bad after we had two boys. We tried again and had a boy. We wanted almost 3 years and I told him I didn't want to regret having one more when I was too old to have them. We tried one more time it didn't matter what the baby was it was our last. God answered our prayers and we had a little girl 1 month before I turned 30. And I wouldn't change it for the world!

Dh and I agreed to two.
Ds11 was born. We decided to try for #2.
We got #2 and #3 (twins). Wouldn't trade them for anything, but wow, what a surprise!

We wanted 2-3 children. I thought we would have a boy but we did not!! I'm happy with our 2 girls. I don't want to chance another c-section (I've had two).

We've planned on having 2 children. If we continue to have trouble conceiving #2, we have accepted that we will have one. It also seems that everyone I know is having twins (without fertility), so we are prepared to have 3 if it happens.
I can definitely say this....I will not be pregnant more than 2 times!

In high school I always said I wanted half a dozen (or so) boys. All boys because I had 3 sisters and 2 nieces at the time.
When DH & I were dating and actually talked about it he said he wanted 2 (like his mom had). I decided then I wanted 4 (like my mom had). So we agreed on 3!!! Of course I always joked that I wanted twins during my 3rd pregnancy to give me the 4 I wanted!
We now have 3 boys and are done!! Of course if we went ahead and tried for a 4th I'd be ok with it, but it's NOT gonna happen (unless I find a new DH)!

Nope, we always wanted at least two, but alas, nature did not have it in the cards for us. After adopting DS, we realized how incredibly lucky we are, and while it was a difficult decision, financially and logistically, we just couldn't do another adoption, so we will just have the one. Although, we did just adopt a year old Brittany spaniel and she is so active and needs so much affection, its *almost* like another little one! ha! ha! lol

We decided to stop at 2 if we had a matched set, but when number 2 was another boy, we went for a little girl. When our 3rd son was born, we agreed to be done. I sold all the maternity clothes and got rid of everything as our baby outgrew it.
Thanks to a case of strep throat and antibiotics, our 4th son was born and an appt to the urologist was scheduled.
I wouldn't trade my little men for anything...that being said, if someone would drop a little girl in a basket off on my doorstep, I wouldn't hesitate to take her in and love her as much as my own boys.
