and I'm curious if anyone else has ever had this experience.

Four times in my life, my brother has gotten mad at me. Usually for reasons that are pretty random. But whatever. His problem, not mine. Though I am a little ticked off this time because he and his wife ignored my son's birthday.

But the odd part is -- every time he has gotten mad at me, it has been at the beginning of summer and it has been every two years. It's like one summer we're good and the next summer we're not. I mentioned this to my mother and she laughed and said, "Maybe it is the tidal waves."

But isn't that strange? Has anyone else ever experienced something like this?

With my husband's ex-wife, there were certain months when we always knew a firestorm would start. Her b-day is in October and that month always seemed to result in some kind of fury coming down on our heads. My theory is, she would evaluate her life every year around her birthday, decide she was unhappy (she was always unhappy) and, of course, it was our fault. Well, it was somebody's fault, never hers.

I have an acquaintance who goes through "temper tantrums" every 6 months will disapear from everyone's life for a few weeks and then come back like nothing ever happened. It's really frustrating and childish, IMO. Sorry you have to deal with that with someone in your family.
