Do you ever feel like you don't spend enough quality time with your kids even though you stay at home with them?

You know, since returning to work, I feel that I spend more quality time with them. It's good to know that guilt is helping me out in some ways!

I do feel like that. Its always one thing or another and life kinda gets in the way. Theres beds, dishes, laundry, etc. and there is only so many hours in the day. I have made an effort to spend more time outside with them (today Trace rode his bike and I pushed the baby in his stroller around the block), we go to storytime once a week and I have started some playdates.

I feel your pain I am trying to do more things with them besides putting in a movie and vegging out. I was going to go to story time last Tuesday but my oldest didn't want to for some reason. I need to be more social with them and at least take them to the park.

Yes definitely feel like that some days! I have been pushing aside household stuff and just sitting down with the kids for a while!

No, I make them my priority. I worry my dh doesn't get alot of quality time with them, but I get lots. I stayed home for them, not for the house so I don't spend my days cleaning or running around.

Not really. Ds and I do tons together, even if it means the housework has to wait until after he goes to bed. Many times we will leave early in the morning and won't return until before dinner time. I will pack a cooler lunch for both of us, pack snacks, etc. and off we go.

Sometimes we'll do the beach, etc. Like I said, sometimes I 'pay' for it by cleaning at 9:00 at night but I'd rather spend the time with him while he is little. I once heard the saying, "To kids, love means TIME" and I try to live by that, although it is exhausting sometimes.

Not really for me either. My kids are teens now so they really don't like a lot of quality time with mom But when they were little I did TONS with them. I didn't have the internet (thank God!!) and am not a daytime TV watcher, so I spent most of my day doing things with them. I was like Stacia that housework NEVER came before my kids. If the house was a wreck and they wanted to go to the park, we went to the park. We always went to the library several times per week and read a TON, had passes for the Children's Museum and Zoo and went frequently, had lots of playdates, and just generally did a lot!! I had a girlfriend once who told me she had never known anyone who did as much as I did with my kids So that's one thing I've never felt guilty about. Now ask me about my dirty house or cooking skills and you've got another story
