My husband is a family attorney. He detests the "lawyerless" stuff. Not because of the money, but because of the mistakes they make. I know he does uncontested divorces for around $500 flat fee. You might call around and see if any attorneys will do that for you. You both could split the costs, and be sure all the legalities are taken care of. You need to look out for your childs best interest, don't take anything for granted. A new wife could come into the picture and decide she doesn't want him to pay support. If you have nothing in writing, your child is hosed!! You need a court order for support and visitation.
