I'm glad it went so well over the weekend! Like Jennifer said tho'.... little steps.... They do add up, but it takes time to re-build what was falling down....but it can be done! Big hugs to you!!!

That's the truth! And we've had such problems in the past that I have trust issues as to when/if it will happen again.

And to top it all off, my SIL calls this morning to ask if I know when DH's first wife died! Apparently, he had given her ring to his mom, and they're giving it to SIL's oldest daughter when she turns 16 the end of this month. There are still pictures of her and DH together at the IL's house, NONE of us, it just really grates on my nerves sometimes. I try to just let it go, but then she calls and asks me that, and it all comes bubbling up again. Sometimes I feel like I'm constantly competing with a dead woman.

I'm sorry I didn't know about any of this. I rarely have time to search all the forums. I'm sorry you are going through all of this. However, as it sounds now, your hearts seem to be on the same page. I hope you both can make the effort to make things work again ~ and yes NOT just for the baby's sake. Good for you for calling him out on that. Men need to know we women are not as feeble or vulnerable as they may THINK we are without them physically being around.

I think your letter was written perfectly and I think you and he have a lot of soul searching to do...however, I do see hope here.

I recently went through a divorce, which I thought would be fairly simple, but has turned into one very nasty complicated event. I am SO sorry anyone else must go through it, but if things aren't good, my only advise is to make sure YOU are happy.You can't help your children understand happiness unless you are happy yourself. That was a very well written letter. You stated the facts and didn't seem judgemental. I hope he appreciates you more. I've been in your space. It's not good but if you can work together it will get better.
