I believe that little things do make a difference. If you always told yourself $70 here or $25 there didn't make a difference, you'd probably never get out of debt. They add up.
I think we can appreciate beautiful things without having to own them.
The fact that you're questioning it tells me you're not 100% sure yourself that you should buy it, which should be your own red flag.
Sorry, I know that isn't probably what you wanted to hear.

I am with Ruthie - there are times in life when you need to indulge once in a while. I voted yes....
I also agree with Kim, if you are wondering should you buy it, then you are not sure.
You should also think where you are going to save the $70 - you need to give up something somewhere else.

I agree with ruthie , Life is too short and I still say buy the vase! It is beautiful by the way . If you have the money sitting in your paypal account , spend it, and enjoy your vase. Its not like you are taking food off the table to swing this purchasc or going into more debt. Being that you have the $ I think that justifies this. JMO

I first wanted to vote yes, but I changed my mind to no. This isn't your dream vase. You said it's similar and I think that's the main reason why you want it. Kim's right about the doubt being a red flag. I say get a picture of it and put it on the fridge after many weeks (or a few months) see how you feel about it after seeing it everyday. Your feelings may change.

This vase will never replace the one on your sister's mantle. I wish it would but it won't. I believe you need to face head on what has happened and talk to your sister about it. Stuff will never fill the void.

I voted yes, but with a question: Will this item help fill an emotional need? If yes, then I would buy it, if it really wont, then dont. I think the vase represents a situation for you, a situation that even if you own this vase, will still remain in your memory. Rarely do items fill an emotional need, I have realized this the hard way. But, I have had items fill a void as well - my grandmother passed away two years ago, and left me her China. It was missing a few pieces, which she always wanted to buy, but never could afford. When I inhereted the China, I purchased the missing pieces to complete the set over time. The complete set sits in my hutch, and it fills an emotional need I have to remember my grandmother and have something tangible from her. Would that vase give you a similar feeling each time you look at it? If so, then you should get it.

I'm not very familiar with pay pal accounts. Is it something where you can use the funds in the account to put towards your debt? If it can't be used to pay off your credit card debt, then I see no reason to not treat yourself to it as you have built up the $70 by completing surveys, etc. Otherwise, I really don't know. If you could use that $70 for anything else, there are probably lots of better ways to use it. Either way, it's truly up to you and it's you that has to be happy with whatever decision you make.
