Yes, that's a good one. When I've been at thrift stores I've seen lots of those holiday tins. If you do a lot of baking to give to others, that's one place to check before spending too much. Also, the Dollar Stores are great for that sort of thing too.

I have to redo my budget- there is a lot of things I forgot!

Here are the things that I just thought of hat a few other may of overlooked:
Decorations (inside and outside, I would like to get something for outside since a lot of stuff was tossed for the move! Include a tree if you purchase a tree!), christmas dishes, flatware, tablecloth. tags, tissue wrapping paper, the cost of shipping presents, besides the main holiday foods (baking and the actual dinner items) holiday drinks, snacks (crackers, cheese, nuts, cookies you buy, candy, and etc.) as well as Holiday donations!

I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting but I'm done. I'm shocked. Now I have to break the news to DH.

Wow, I was surprised at my total. I have nearly 50 things on my list to buy. Most are gifts but I also included postage, cards, holiday clothing, tree, a secret sister gift, apparel, office gifts for dh, and some other things. Don't forget to budget what your spouse will spend on YOU! I totally forgot to include that my first time around.

My list includes four columns: The person/gift/expense, a space for what I'm going to buy (some are filled in, but most is left blank because I haven't purchased the items yet), the budgeted amount, and the actual amount. My goal is to come in under budget this year!
