After week one, you should have accomplished the following:
- Have a holiday budget set
- Have a holiday expense spreadsheet completed
- Have at least one gift for out-of-towners purchased
- Have a plan for holiday cards
This week, we'll be giving you more things to check off your list. Here are the first two (more are coming):
FINISH SHOPPING FOR OUT OF TOWNERS
Finish shopping for out-of-town friends and relatives. Get all those gifts checked off your list, hopefully under budget. For tips on what to buy, visit our What's In Store and Online Bargains Forum.
ADD AT LEAST ONE HOMEMADE GIFT TO YOUR PLANS
Giving homemade gifts isn't only thrifty, it says to the recipient that you took the time to create something just for them. Grandmothers, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews - there are a variety of gift ideas that can be made inexpensively for everyone on your list. Try replacing at least one store-bought gifts with a homemade project this year. If you can do more, you'll end up saving more.
