I need to get back in shape this year. I am far too weak to be a mother to 3 active kids. It is a priority and was a priority for 2007. However, not big enough to have become a habit.

I tried out an outdoor fitness camp this summer and loved it. Didn't continue because of the cost and thought I could and would do it on my own.

Flash forward, got an email that I can purchase an annual pass for outdoor fitness. The cost is a lot. The savings of having the annual pass is 40%.

I'm torn -- this is not on my approved spending list. Yet, I have be unsuccessful in my fitness attempts in the past. Perhaps this would give me the incentive?

Your thoughts?

That's a tough one.

Do you have to pay before the spending freeze ends? If not, why don't you think about it and until the freeze is over and if you still feel like it's a good idea do it then. Also, could you start taking baby steps to exercise TODAY, then you'll have almost three weeks devoted to your goal already. They say it takes three months to develop new habits. You'd be almost 1/3 of the way there and possible be more motivated to continue either with the new camp or on your own. Just some thoughts...

I think only YOU can answer that. It's a tough one. Did you see the thread about "If, then..." statements? A lot of times people rationalize by saying "If I had better fitness equipment, then I would work out... " - or - "If I bought a Kitchen Aid mixer, then I would bake more..." (that was mine).

Here's the thread if you want to read it:
Reflection on "Not Buying It" book.

Let us know what you decide!

When does the deal expire? Can you think about it for a little bit before committing? As someone who has had a bike then a treadmill (both of which have been sold in "like new" condition) and has a current membership to Curves that I never get to use, I would seriously think about it. Also remember that it is the new year and everywhere you look are weight loss ads and exercise equipment sales . It's like "Happy New Year! Don't you need to lose weight??" LOL!

Maybe having to think so hard about it will
make you use it more. ?
I got a treadmill for Christmas and everytime
I think I don't feel like walking, I think about how
much it costs and I hop on right away!!
