My biggest temptation is eating out. We only did it once this weekend and it was pizza (so not to much money there). Instead of eatting out two or three times a weekend I got out my crock pot and put it to work. A small victory but it is one that felt good.

Oh yea I also went to Target and came out with the one thing on my list to buy not the dozens of things I wanted. Lots of clearance going on there.

I'm in the same boat! I tried to go a day without Diet Coke and it quickly got moved to the Approved Spending List. I guess I can only tackle so many things at one time!

The two areas I really want to work on eating out and extra trips to the grocery store. On Thursday I made my shopping list for the weekend and I didn't need to make a single trip to the store! But on eating out ... this weekend was really tough because our weather was so crappy and I really wanted out of the house. My husband offered about six different times for us to eat out! I remained strong! And we ate at home! I'm very proud of that!

I agree the sales racks are my biggest tempation.
I also have a gift card to Old Navy & JC Penney but do not "need" anything right but they are itching in my pocket. I keep telling myself to wait until summer clothes come out when I need stuff!

I only have 2 things on my temptations list so far...Yarn & Dr. Pepper.

I tried to justify the yarn because I am using it to make scarves that are going to be Christmas gifts this year and I was going to make a couple baby blankets to put in my craft booth but I have plenty of yarn at home to make a hundred scarves and the baby blankets can wait.

***this was also a victory because I wanted so badly to go to Hobby Lobby but made myself stay away.

There is no way to justify the Dr. Pepper but I am cheating because we keep a fridge at work fully stocked with drinks and I've got dr. pepper in it. But the company buys it so I'm getting my fix witout spending money.

***Another victory because I had to drive by the donut shop on the way to work today (my normal route was blocked) and I wanted to get a fountain dr. pepper so bad but told myself I could just wait and have one at work.

My minor victory was while we were in the city for Dentist appointments last friday was that I did not stop at any consignment/thrift stores (they are my GREATEST weakness). My son and I did scrape our change together and split a large popcorn chicken and a fountain drink at KFC, though. I will chalk this up to a victory, though. My son, as we were waiting in the drive thru lane, says to me (as he's counting our combined cash on hand), "We're making do with what we've got, right, Mom?"

He's listening to me and I think that in itself is a great victory.

Temptaions

after Christmas sales
kids clothing clearance rack at Target
Ugg-type boots for DD
Car wash

Victories

not eating out this weekend
cooking meals at home 9 days in a row
parking car outside during rainstorm (now I don't need to go to car wash)
kids playing nicely together at home

I'm really looking forward to not being in the stores as much too. This will be good project to see how much time I have available when not chasing down a great deal!

I actually only had 1 temptation:

I REALLY REALLY wanted some jeans for my girls from Disney.com. They matched sweaters they got for Christmas and were marked down with 40% off, making them 11.99. I went to the site, filled up my cart of more stuff they didn't need, clicked submit, the my computer crashed!! ROFL!! In the end, I told myself we just did't need them, so I did't bother filling up my cart again, it just was't meant to be. LOL
