I expected that we would save money. I didn't expect to lose weight. I have stopped going out to lunch. That change has contributed greatly to me losing 4 pounds since 1/1.

Good luck in 2008.

Congratulations!

I feel the same way. Not buying all the food items we enjoy but don't NEED (pop, ice cream, snacks, etc) will help us gain a healthier lifestyle. It's like a super BONUS

Lucky duck. It is having the opposite effect on me. I have been cooking and ~ gasp ~ baking, and I have gained 3 pounds! So next week's grocery list will be a little more refined. I don't know what I was thinking making apple cinnamon muffins and thinking oh everyone can eat them all week for breakfast. We ate them all in 24 hours! I think I was better off with the cereal and all the little snacks in their own tiny packages.

Have you been talking to MY husband? He said the same thing the other night but I made it up to him by baking and finding stuff around, that him and our boys have LOVED! All those times I was trying to impress them with special ingredients HA!

You could always double up on the $1 Lean Cuisine meals for lunch!

My husband said something to this effect. And commented on how bare our refrigerator is getting and how easy it will be for me to clean! Ugh!! I think it may be a good time for him to learn how since he is so sassy. LOL

What is it with men? They stop eating McDonald's for a week and lose 5lbs OR in my husband's case, stop eating Christmas cookies and lose 5 lbs. Must be nice!!

Nice job!!
