No it really doesn't affect my time. I am way involved in my Mommy Meetups so I still go out all the time. Still going over to a friends house is not spending money which is nice.

My house loves all of the time I am putting into it right now!! It is starting to look like all 5 of us might fit in here. LOL

I have decluttered
I have cooked things I normally wouldn't 'cause I can't shop
I have a friend cleaning and we have exchanged stuff. So without shopping I have "new" stuff
I have gotten some scrapbook stuff together (that is my project for next week
I have been able to spend more time on the computer
I have gotten my controll center binder ready

And I have done nothing in between and feeling much better

Since I haven't been spending lots of time looking for the great sales online, I've spent more time here( ), decluttered a bit and packed up stuff to donate to a charity.

The biggest thing I've done is spend time at my mom's home boxing up 45 years worth of clutter that she has accumulated. She is 84 and can't handle it anymore and it keeps her from feeling "free" in her home. We already have 30 boxes of stuff to donate and MANY more things to go through...

Well maybe I should call my post - "confessions of a shop-a-holic!"

I felt overwhelmingly tempted to go out and "shop" for recreation today - something I did for years before I changed my ways around 6 months ago.

I think it's the old you can't have it so you want it thing happening in my head actually.

So instead of giving in to the temptation, I told my daughters we would do our "shopping" at home. It is a little way to have a de-clutter of toys and clothes and other stuff.

We got down a box or whatever of stored items and went through them. You get surprised when you haven't seen an item for a while and can't even remember buying it! Strangely enough, it had the same excitement and effect as looking for treasures out at the stores. The big bonus was that we didn't have to spend any money

And paring down to essentials is what we want to undertake in the future too, so it is a good exercise for sorting out excess.
