Has anyone found that with less spending, they've had more time? What have you been doing to fill the extra time?

Kim, this is really your secret, diabolical plan to get us on Mommysavers more, isn't it??? lol

I have had more time and have been organizing and cleaning my house. The two days my dd was in school this week have been very productive.

I have also exercised everyday this week!!!!

I am an avid list maker. So I made a list of what has to be done through out the week, like laundry, iron uniforms, mop, etc. and a list of extras clip coupon, baby books, take Christmas decor down etc. Then made a Mon-Sun list and divided all up. It feels great to cross them off as I go.
And I am less stressed when my house is in order. It's like my house reflects what's going on with me. If it's organized so am I. If it's trashed, I am a stressed out mess.

I have been wrapping up my year end paper work for my business while the kids have been at school. So now when they come home from school, we have been able to play games, do crafts & just spend the quality time with the kids that they always want! Since we are trying to use up all our extra food in the freezer, the kids have been helping me cook & bake a lot, too, instead of going to the grocery store so often. Yesterday my ds told me he was so happy that we didn't have to run any errands, and that we could just stay home and play. So everytime I get the urge to go out & "window shop", I try to remember that the kids would just rather stay home & that this will also save us $.

My house has actually been cleaner. I've found myself having time to clean during the day and not have to stay up later at night doing it.

I've been going to sleep earlier.
I've been to the library twice and finished 1 book.
I tried out Story Hour because it was free and my son loved it. He wants to do it every week and even thanked me for signing him up!
I have packed my husband's lunch before bed the last 3 nights.
We had one belated Christmas party to attend tomorrow at my aunt's. She came down with the flu and all of the sudden there is no where to have it - but we can have it here since my house is ALREADY clean - no panicking!

I love it!

I have totally noticed that I have more time. I have been cleaning, playing games with DS, baking, organizing, and going a little stir crazy. Luckily the weather hasn't been too bad and DS and I have been playing outside quite a bit. I have also gone through and gathered all my paperwork for taxes already.

Unfortunately I haven't noticed much of a change since this started the same time I went back to work full time. But really it was perfect timing because my biggest shopping problem is working! We live in the country so while I'm home I can't just run to the store because that involves at least a 25 minute drive to a small wal mart and nothing else. But when I'm at work in the "big city" I have to get out of the office at lunch and often times that leads to shopping.

But I guess I do have more time since now I use my lunch break to read or work on a craft project.

I've done a LOT of baking. I should get out the scrapbooking. I don't know why I haven't done that yet.

I have been cleaning and exercising every day.

I have also been downloading my bank transactions and entering in my reciepts into my checking acct register in Quicken every day. It's a relief to know how much money we have in the bank every day.

Oh, and I've also been spending way, way too much time on Mommysavers LOL.
